A new vaping store has opened its doors in a popular Heckmondwike retail centre in West Yorkshire.

It is the 41st Vape HQ store to open in the country after the specialist independent retailer agreed a five-year lease for unit 7A at Northgate Retail Centre, which is managed by London & Cambridge Properties (LCP).

Manager Mark Childerley said it had invested £20,000 refurbishing the store, ready for customers.

“Vaping has become incredibly popular and the huge growth in the number of our stores alone shows just how people in the UK have taken to it,” he said.

“We saw an opportunity to open a store in Heckmondwike and worked with LCP to get the shop opened as quickly as possible. We’re looking forward to welcoming new customers now that the doors are open.”

James Millard, asset manager at LCP, said: “Independent stores are crucial to the vibrancy of the marketplace and we are delighted to have attracted Vape HQ to Northgate Retail Centre.”

Northgate Retail Centre is located close to the High Street in Heckmondwike and comprises 11 modern retail stores, a drive-through restaurant and a supermarket. Occupiers include Lidl, Peacocks and McDonalds.
