Construction work has begun to build three roadside retail units at a busy industrial estate in the Black Country.

National commercial property and investment company LCP is speculatively developing the three units close to the main entrance to the Pensnett Estate, Dudley Road, Kingswinford, which it owns and manages.

LCP is now looking to attract retailers and a coffee shop to the roadside units, which range in size from 1,000 sq ft – 4000 sq ft. Work is expected to be completed in November this year.

Matt Pegg, asset manager at LCP, said: “The Pensnett Estate is our flagship estate and is one of the largest business parks in the UK with more than 3,500 employees at 160 businesses; although there are a handful of retail outlets nearby, we recognise that having shops on site will be hugely beneficial to people working here, as well as to passers-by and locals.

“We’re already in discussions with a number of well-known retailers and hope to announce our first occupiers soon.”

Andrew Barrett, LCP retail director, added: “The work to create this retail outlet and coffee shop is all part of our continuing plans to develop our head office estate and create mixed use areas that will meet the needs of business.”
