LCP, the national commercial property and investment company, has appointed a third lawyer for its Black Country head office as the group continues to grow its industrial and retails portfolios.

Ruth Bourton, who has more than 11 years’ commercial property law experience in both regional and national firms, joins the legal team at The Pensnett Estate from Pinsent Masons, where she worked in the investment and asset management team, advising investors and tenants on a variety of real estate transactions.

She will work alongside the group’s legal teams in head office, London and Glasgow, as well as support LCP’s asset managers, providing specialist legal and strategic advice on property schemes, and liaise with external lawyers.

“After many years of private practice, I am ready for the move to an in-house asset management legal role and am looking forward to be joining LCP at a time when it is committed to ambitious plans for growth,” she said.

Nicholas Burgess, LCP managing director, added: “For the past couple of years, we’ve been focusing on the expansion of our commercial property portfolio across the country and this rapid level of growth means we need to increase our legal team. Ruth’s first-class expertise will undoubtedly be a great asset to our dedicated legal department.”

LCP is also planning to increase the legal team in its London Millbank office over the next few months.
