LCP is working to help a tenant get back on its feet after a devastating blaze to its warehouse in Kent earlier this month (October 2018).

Fire destroyed the unit at Riverside Industrial Estate, Dartford, which is let to UCC, the coffee roasting business. Its stock was destroyed, but its main production plant and coffee roasting facility were not affected.

About 50 local residents also had to be evacuated while firefighters tackled the blaze.

LCP, which manages the industrial estate on behalf of landlord Proudreed, is working closely with the tenant, landlord, insurers and local council to get the 21,000 sq ft warehouse rebuilt as quickly as possible.

Julian Diamond, retail director at LCP, said: “We’re pleased that all employees were safely evacuated after the outbreak of fire triggered the alarm. Kent Fire Brigade did a heroic job in extinguishing the blaze, ensuring that it did not spread further to other units and for that we are extremely grateful.

“We’re now working as quickly as possible to try to get UCC’s warehouse rebuilt so that it can continue its business as normal.”

The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
