The 8,000 sq ft unit on Trinity Street, formerly occupied by Love Sofas, has been taken over by Poundstretcher. Prominently sited on a main arterial road into the town centre, the unit is near the towns travel hubs and parking.

Simon Eatough, asset manager, said: “We are pleased that this prominent retail unit, which is close to the town centre and has good public transport and parking links, will be under occupancy once again. As landlords, we are committed to investing in our portfolios, for the benefit of local communities, and having Walker Singleton on board as agents, we are confident that this will be a great asset for the town.”

Ross Thornton, commercial property surveyor at Walker Singleton, added: “News tends to focus on the doom and gloom of the high street and whilst there is no avoiding it is in difficult times there remain positives which, with the support of corporate landlords and with the underlying backing of the Council, draw retailers in.”

Poundstretcher has more than 400 stores nationwide and this new site s part of wider roll-out of openings and rebranding to Bargain Buys.
