CHURCHILL GIVING HANDS HELPS HOMELESS MAN FIND A FLAT

The Churchill Giving Hands Project, which helps the needy and homeless from its charity hub in the Churchill Shopping Centre in Dudley, has helped a homeless man to secure permanent accommodation.

The project, which was given use of a shop unit in the centre earlier this year so it could continue the work that The Giving Hands Mission carries out in the borough, offered help to Charlie, a well-known figure in the town who slept rough in a shop doorway.

After George Ehimen Peter, chief operating officer of the charity, found out that Charlie’s possessions had been set alight when he was in hospital, receiving treatment for fluid on the lungs, he stepped in to help him.

George managed to secure Charlie a flat in nearby Kate’s Hill and he’s already moved in – with the charity also supplying him with some clothes and supplies to get him started in his new home.

The hub in the shopping centre has already proven to be an asset to people in Dudley and surrounding areas and we are thrilled to be able to support the charity in its endeavours.”
